The Fit Reading Group

Every second Wednesday of the month, we get together for an hour or so (usually at 11.00am in the Open University Business School) to discuss two fit-related readings.

The format is simple. We distribute the readings as far in advance as possible. Then, the session opens with one person introducing and summarising the first reading, which leads into a free format discussion. Then the process is repeated with a different person introducing the second paper. People volunteer in advance of the session to take the lead on a paper.

Anyone and everyone is welcome; you certainly don't need to have attended previous ones. All we ask is that you have read the selected readings and come along in a spirit of collegial inquiry.

Having completed the seminal Ostroff and Judge book, Perspectives on Organizational Fit, we have decided to read Brent Smith's The People Make the Place: Dynamic Linkages Between Individuals and Organizations, which is a festschrift book celebrating Ben Schneider's work on the ASA framework and the associated homogeneity hypothesis.

If you need help getting a copy of the readings, in the first instance please contact Ross, but if he's not around any member of the project should be able to help.
